I got the canoe out last night so I could go fishing this morning. The rain put a stop to that one. This evening I took just the canoe and the dogs down for some paddling. Not too far and not too hard, but it felt good to get back on the water. The wheels make it a lot easier to move the canoe to the creek. They’re simple to bungee on and off. One dog napped and the other swam. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
Lucky’s too short to see over the side.
I wish I had some of Chili’s energy.
Lucky could take a nap anywhere.
The wheels are very handy.
It started raining right at 8:00 this morning. I measured 0.7 inches with the gauge on the roof of the front porch. It was a short hard rain, but we needed some precipitation. It hadn’t rained since July 11th. That’s ten days ago.
The dogs and I got wet from the tree drips, but it had stopped raining by the time we got in our morning walk. The creek isn’t up yet, and it shouldn’t come up much from the rain we got here. It’s what fell upstream that determines whether I can go fishing tonight or not 🙂
Patchy fog above the creek. The corn and beans are doing fine.
The creek is still clear, but the stranded puddle is muddy.
The view from the bench.
Had a few wild cherries for a snack. Still rain drops on them.
My tomatoes are doing great if they’d just start to get ripe!
I’m not going to worry about names. If you know their names, and you want to comment, feel free. I know. Some are not flowers any more, but they used to be 🙂
It was an interesting week. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Guarding the food.
Marigolds are doing good.

Into the woodpile it goes.
Just had to give chase.
My daughter and granddaughter camped out here for the last few days. They only ditched the tent for beds last night. Here’s a few pictures of their fun.
Ready for a walk.
Look close and you can see them.
Now you can see them but the sunset is washed out.
The turtle is like a runway model.
Jay and Chili kayaking.
Cute snake again.
Cooking over the fire.
Heading off for the long hike.
Turned into savages!
Almost back to the truck.
