A Good Day at the Creek
The morning view from the bench.
The first snake of the day.
This is what I noticed while wading in the creek.
This is what I found when I pulled it up.
The elderberries are starting to bloom.
The daddy long legs exploring the elderberry bush.
Each of these little blooms becomes a little tasty berry.
Slow but sure.
The evening view to the south.
The evening view to the east. The old grave stones are from the civil war era.
Looking downstream at my back yard.
Time to head back to the trailer.
The raccoon peeking out of her tree as the day fades.
The Creek – 2017 Calendar
Some days you look up and realize there is a whole system of paths up there in the sky.
The buckeye are doing good so far. They always leaf out first and the leaves turn brown and fall early, but it’s still too soon for them to start dropping leaves.
It’s amazing the wildflowers that thrive in this drought so far. These phlox crowd the path. There are asters and daisies too.
Got some zombie targets for Father’s Day. Notice I got some good head shots without hitting the girl :)
The wild cherries are just starting to get ripe. They’re good, but the pit is almost as big as the fruit.
The walking is tough along here because all the rocks are loose. They’re used to have some water to increase their buoyancy and they don’t settle with any kind of stability. Angry rocks :)
The creek is just disconnected pools of water along this stretch. The raccoons are having a buffet every night now.
The ubiquitous butterfly picture. Notice all the vegetation is drooping from the drought.
This tree fell about 40 yard upstream from where I was fishing. A little unsettling :)
