Photo Challenge – Minimalist

This week the Daily Post’s photo challenge is Minimalist. Less is more.

It’s the time of year when frost isn’t an everyday thing, but it’s starting to happen more frequently. Frost adds texture to everything it touches. It even transformed the front porch rail, where a lonely maple seed came to rest. Individual frost crystals stipple the wood and the seed.

Yes, the porch could use a fresh coat of paint. Maybe next year. The good news is, with the cold weather, I run through fewer spider webs while walking the trails, and the wasps in the barn have gone quiet for the winter. Frost can be a good thing.
